Ceramic refractory cloth

Ceramic refractory cloth is a woven textile made from high-purity aluminosilicate ceramic fibers. These fibers are reinforced with fiberglass strands and alloy steel wire to create a final product with unique properties.

This refractory cloth is white and odorless and is suitable for high-temperature applications up to 1260°C (2300°F).

Features and Benefits of Ceramic Refractory Cloth

  • Low thermal conductivity and low heat storage: This property makes ceramic refractory cloth an ideal insulation material to prevent heat loss.
  • High-temperature stability: This cloth can withstand temperatures up to 1260°C (2300°F) without deformation or degradation.
  • Thermal shock resistance: Ceramic refractory cloth can tolerate sudden temperature changes without cracking or breaking.
  • Fire and flame resistant: This cloth is resistant to fire and flames and will not ignite under any circumstances.
  • Chemical resistance: Ceramic refractory cloth is resistant to most corrosive, acidic, and alkaline chemicals. (Except for hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, and strong bases)
  • Lightweight: This cloth is very lightweight despite its high strength, making it easy to work with.
  • Flexibility: Ceramic refractory cloth can be easily bent and shaped, making it suitable for insulating irregular surfaces.
  • Easy to pack, shape, and cut: This cloth can be easily cut and shaped into various forms.

Applications of Ceramic Refractory Cloth

Thermal Insulation

  • As an insulating blanket around pipes, chimneys, fire blankets, and boilers to prevent heat loss and improve the efficiency of heating and cooling systems.
  • In insulating furnace and boiler doors to minimize heat loss and increase efficiency.
  • In insulating homes and buildings to prevent heat and cold loss and save energy.

Heat Reflection

  • In heat shields for spacecraft and space shuttles to protect them from the extreme heat of re-entry.
  • In furnaces and ovens to reflect heat back in and increase baking efficiency.
  • In fireplaces to direct heat towards the room and increase the warmth of the space.

Roller Coverings

  • In the steel, rolling, and printing industries to protect rollers from heat and wear caused by contact with hot and dusty materials
  • In the food industry to prevent materials from sticking to rollers and make them easy to clean.

Industrial Applications

  • In insulating boilers, heat exchangers, turbines, and other industrial equipment to increase efficiency and save energy.
  • In making washers and gaskets for sealing and air-tightening connections and joints in various industries.
  • In making personal protective clothing and equipment for workers exposed to heat and hazardous chemicals.

Fire Safety Boxes

To protect documents, money, and other valuables from fire and heat in the event of a fire.

Expansion Joints

To fill gaps between surfaces in buildings, bridges, and other structures to prevent air, dust, sound, and moisture infiltration.

Pipe and Duct Insulation

To prevent leaks and fluid loss.

Sealants and Gaskets

  • For sealing and air-tightening connections and joints in various industries such as plumbing, automotive, and construction.
  • In making washers and gaskets to prevent leakage of fluids and gases.

Ceramic refractory cloth has a wide range of applications in various industries due to its unique properties. This refractory cloth is an ideal insulation material for protecting equipment and people from heat and fire.
